Picking a PLan

As with all weight loss we each have to pick what plan will work for us. Today, I discovered that there are 4 or 5 other people in my office trying to loose substantial amounts of weight. One is doing weight watchers. The rest say they are "just eating healthier" and trying to work out. Then there is me... the "flat belly dieter". There is also one guy who wants to loose but has no idea how he is going to do it.

This approach doesn't make sense to me. Why try to loose weight without a plan? I'm saying that my choice should be there's, but shouldn't we all go into a weight loss program knowing how we want to achieve that goal? If you don't have a plan you can't possibly discover what causes your successes and your failures. And without that you can't possibly learn from the experience.

We each have our metabolism, work out routine, schedule, eating preferences, etc. If we want to loose weight and live a healthier life style, you have to decide to learn what a health life style is. Then you have to figure out the healthy way of getting there. You can't just jump into a new plan and figure that in a week you are going to be at your goals. Chances are the weight you are trying to loose was put on over many years. It is going to take time to get there. We each need to pick a plan that let's us get there is a happy and healthy manner. We are going to be breaking habits, forming new ones, and establishing new routines. That takes time, commitment, and an understanding of our inner selves. Pick a plan that confirms with your life and what you want that life to be. Remember, in loosing weight we are picking a new diet. A healthy diet. Not just a temporary way of eating until we loose those extra pounds.
